OASIS 2006
OASIS (Optionetics Annual Super Investor Summit) 2006 was a BLAST!
I'm so glad i took time off to attend this annual Optionetics events @ the Santa Clara Convention Centre. With 90+ Breakout sessions, nearly 3000 participants from over 15 countries, the event was very well organised indeed.
This time round, there was no cold soup as mentioned by last year's participant. And indeed, same as last year, there was a luncheon for all the international students with Tom and George and you bet we all took photos with them.
The below is a list of the breakout sessions that i took. I'm really excited about some of these and i'm gonna compile the notes that i took on them and put it to use (Jack, will sent you a copy of Jeff's session once i typed it out). Of special mention are the ones done by Eloy, Jay, Jeff, Joe and Rob. Personally, i thought Meng's session wasn't too good. It was one of the lousiest among the ones i took.

Those sessions was so intense and packed together that i was completely knocked out at the end of the day. It was a power-packed 3 day at OASIS 2006.
Of course, all work and no play isn't really what trading is all about, so you bet we took time off (when the market was crashing... haha) for some sightseeing in california before and after OASIS.

How much do these trading conferences costs?
This particular one is rather cheap though. It's only $495USD but you gotta be an optionetics student to be able to attend.
Given the contents of the whole conference, it is definitely value for money!
Ok, thanks, but did u fly there specifically for the conference? Total cost is still quite steep.

The answer is yes and no. Yes, I flew there for the conference but i did some sightseeing and also visited some Universities for potential post-grad courses.
In a way, it wasn't just for the conference. But then again, it was well worth the cost even if it's just for the conference.

HiHuatAh, you made SGD20K and still not a lot? you must be very skilled. Is this 2- 3 Aug session a training session or an introductory session i.e. free. I would like to attend the free, introductory session to understand how the system works. I have not started to trade at all but very keen and looking around for a suitable course. Someone on the website told me that he got to attend the session for a low price because he and his friends went as a grp of 3. Thks again

Thanks for the compliment but really, in stocks, when the market is up and you're making money, there isn't too much skill involved.
Real skills is when you can make the same money in all kinds of market condition.
I am not too sure when the free preview is, but i can check for you. The 2-3 Aug one is not free. Nowadays, u only need 2 to get the special rate but it's still not low, if u ask me.

I've registered for the 11th July preview already. btw, how much did you pay for your lesson? when did you go for the course? one person from the cna blog told us that all future seminars by optionetics are free? Is this true? Also, there is no need to buy the software and we can still reasonably make some money.. I am confused. Can you elaborate. Thks a million.
I can't remeber exactly how much i paid for the course, it's around 3K+.
I went for my course in Aug 2004. Re-attendance for optionetics seminar is free. This is a plus point of the provider as it is not easy for a beginner to grasp everything within a single seminar. I will be re-attending the coming one on the 2-3 Aug.
They come 3-4 times a year to singapore. In fact, if they have seminar in other countries and you happen to be there, you can go for free too.
For simple strategy, no software is required. However, there is a chinese saying: " a craftsman who wish to be good in his trade needs to first sharpen his tools." In trading, it is the same. Having good software sharpens your edge.
Nonetheless, as you embark on your journey. The most important thing is still DISCIPLINE!!

How have you been? many successes - I am sure. This is anonymous after a long while (busy at work) I finally attended the free 2 hr seminar today at Marriot. I was late so didn't get to get the name of the speaker. btw is it real that they will reimburse you the full amount of tuition fee if we don't make 3 times the amt in 6 mths?
not that I want it back..because I really hope to make 300% really but I not confident I am cut out for options -- too much emotions for me lah. I will prob. wait till 1st Qtr for my friend to return to SGP and do it together to get the lower price. Wow, seems like the classes will be very big leh 100 odd people from the 2 sessions of free seminar. have you attended any other seminars. I attended one last week by Frankie something (the person from the sunday times). selling options seems very doable. what you think??
